How it works
A bank transfer on one side. Local currency on the other.
MedFX sits between your patient's bank and your bank. Here is what happens at each step, and what we do not do.

The four steps
From onboarding to payout
- 1
We verify your clinic
You send company documents and owner ID. We run identity, business and sanctions checks before any account opens.
- 2
Your patient gets local bank details
For each patient we issue payment instructions in their own currency: dollars, euros, pounds or dirhams, with a reference that ties the payment to them.
- 3
The patient pays by bank transfer
They send money from their own bank app, the way they pay a bill at home. No card, no international wire form, no IBAN guesswork.
- 4
You receive local currency
We convert and send reais, pesos, lira or another local currency to your bank account over Pix, SPEI, FAST or the local rail. You see the payment against the patient.
Under the hood
What happens to the money
Payment details for each patient
Each patient receives bank details in their own country and currency, with a reference that identifies them. Where a named account is available, currently for US dollars and UAE dirhams, the payment is made in the name of your clinic, so the patient sees your clinic on their bank statement.
Conversion and local payout
Once the transfer has arrived and cleared, we convert the funds and send local currency to your bank account over the rail your country uses, such as Pix, SPEI or FAST. The rate and fees are shown before you confirm.
Stablecoin rails behind the scenes
To settle faster than correspondent banking allows, funds move over stablecoin networks between the two fiat legs. Your patient pays in ordinary money and you receive ordinary money. You never hold or handle crypto.
Timing
How long a payment takes
Two things set the speed. The first is the rail your patient uses. SEPA Instant, Faster Payments, RTP and Fedwire arrive in seconds. SEPA credit transfers arrive the same day, ACH in zero to two business days and SWIFT in one to four.
The second is the rail you are paid on. Pix, SPEI and FAST are real-time. Bank transfers in some countries arrive the same day or the next business day, depending on the bank’s cut-off time.
These are estimates, not guarantees. Compliance reviews, bank holidays and third-party networks can add time.
